Finally Sen DeMint forces a vote on Constituitonality of Health Care.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/GOP-forces-vote-on-constitutionality-of-health-bill–79914142.html

I have been crying aloud this point for 6 plus months now. It almost seemed as if everyone in Congress, even most Republicans were not going to bring up the issue of the Health Care legislation being Unconstitutional.

I am thrilled to finally see a handful of Conservative Republicans arguing and defending that very point. I always thought Senator Jim DeMint was one of the biggest and truest Conservatives in Congress. He puts his money where his mouth is!

This vote should be very interesting and will paint a true picture on the very nature of how corrupt, unconstitutional and idiotic most in Congress have become. It will not surprise me if in the face of current proposed Health Care legislation being clearly Unconstitutional many Congressional members vote that it is indeed acceptable.

I said it last week before this was even news and I will say it again.  This will be the first time in American History(233 years since our founding) that the Federal Government will force it’s citizens to buy something. Then on top of that deem it illegal if they do not.  This is nothing more than modern tyranny and those in Congress supporting such legislation and voting for such legislation are tyrants. There is no middle ground. You either support and legislate based on the Constitution or you don’t. And if you choose the latter then you have no place working in Congress.

  1. Hard to believe, but as a progressive democrat I actually agree with you. I don’t understand why you’re that upset, however, since the bill is basically a gift to the insurance cos. and the ricvh republicans will still be able to afford health care.
